As a recovering perfectionist and devoted yogini, I have learned that the best way to maintain balance is to wobble a little - and to be okay with that. I found, through my own journey to vibrant health, that I will never be perfect. I know that I can always improve my balance, by eating foods that increase my vitality, by taking care of myself and practicing my beloved yoga, by being open and honest in my relationships, and by meditating nightly. Like the birch trees in my backyard that sway when the wind blows, I go with the flow, as long as that flow means I am being true to myself.
I have battled acid reflux, IBS, and headaches. After many, many medical tests and lots of different damaging pharmaceuticals, I decided that Western medicine was not the only way to heal myself. I felt so empowered when I changed my eating habits to find out what keeps me balanced. I re-invigorated my yoga and meditation practice to calm my mind, body, and soul. I discovered that walks after dinner greatly improve my digestion. I can say with pride that this ongoing journey has strengthened my digestive system and improved my sense of wholeness and balance immeasurably. As an added bonus, after years of Weight Watchers and dieting in my teens and twenties, I "organically" lost over 25 pounds in the process of healing myself of acid reflux and IBS. I dropped 5 pants sizes and went from a size 12 to a size 2! I never thought I would be purchasing those size 2 pants.
About My Passion for Helping Others
I am an expert in helping others improve their health, and specifically, their digestion, through simple diet and lifestyle changes. I have been there and I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed by trying to get yourself healthy. That is why I am here to support you as you heal and to give you the tools you need to make permanent change for the better. Given half a chance, the body will heal itself.
I received my certification to practice Health Coaching at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and I am certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.
I have been teaching yoga and gentle movement since 2006 and am a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance.
